Thai Girls Gear Up for Intense U19 Showdown Against Vietnam

The regional adversaries Thailand and Vietnam are set to face each other in the championship final of the Asean U19 Girls' Championship 2025 on Wednesday.

After blanking out Indonesia with a 4-0 victory in the semifinals at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam advanced to the finals. In the same venue, Thailand secured their place by defeating Myanmar 5-1.

The Thailand U19 women's team coach, Nuengrutai Srathongwian, stated at a pre-game press briefing on Tuesday: “We are prepared for the finale.”

I'm pleased that we don’t have any injury concerns, and I believe this game will provide invaluable experience for our players when they go up against Vietnam, who stand out as both the toughest and most seasoned squad in the competition.

This will pose a tough challenge for our players, but winning this game would represent significant progress for the team.

"I think Vietnam will also be well-prepared for the game. Whether we will do well or not will depend on the opponents as well. We can only try to prepare ourselves for the match in the best way possible.

We have analyzed their playing style previously, and I trust our team members will generate memorable experiences for themselves regardless of the state of the field or the ambiance at the location.

Rhythm and error prevention will be key.

The Vietnamese team boasts two highly skilled players, so we'll be keeping an eye on them throughout the match.

The ASEAN U19 Girls' finals will commence at 6:30 pm today at the same location in Ho Chi Minh City.

Rabbits sign Japan's Doi

BG Pathum United has formally confirmed the addition of 27-year-old Japanese striker Tomoyuki Doi from Geylang International, a team in the Singapore Premier League, aiming to bolster their roster for the upcoming 2025-2026 campaign.

Doi conveyed his enthusiasm about becoming part of the Rabbits, stating: "Wearing the BG jersey fills me with incredible joy. I am eagerly anticipating getting out on the field and scoring goals for my new team."

I am aware that Thai football stands out as one of the top teams in Southeast Asia and is known for its strong competition.

Playing as a forward, I am committed to giving everything to assist BG Pathum in winning each tournament.

In 2020, Doi started his professional journey with Albirex Niigata Singapore. The following year, he transferred to Hougang United in 2021. In 2022, he went back to Japan to compete for Fujieda MYFC. Subsequently, he played for FK Bylis in Albania.

Most recently, he came back to Singapore to play for Geylang in 2024, where he netted 50 goals in 35 matches across various competitions during the previous season.
